The Jambville Scout Centre is a historic castle which sits in 50 hectares of forests and meadows. It is fully equipped to host large scout camps, jamborees and public events. The centre is managed by a team of 30 permanent staff and 100 volunteers. This team is dedicated to welcoming, accompanying and providing logistical support to national and international Scout events in a natural, preserved and secure location. The Centre of Jambville, SCENES (Scout Centre of Excellence for Nature and Environment), is, therefore, an ideal place for the 43rd World Scout Conference
Jambville, a natural haven close to Paris
Jambville is a village of 700 inhabitants, located just 50km from Paris and in the heart of the Vexin Français nature reserve. A train station 8 km away offers a direct connection to Paris (Gare Saint Lazare) and it is close to airports: 75 km from Paris-Orly airport; 68 km from Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport and 60 km from Paris-Beauvais Airport. Bus transfer services will be arranged on the day of arrival and departure.
Jambville, reception area for major events
The centre of Jambville is used to hosting major national and international events, including the 2016 Roverway which welcomed 5,500 people and the Annual General Meeting of Scouts and Guides of France which brought together more than 2,000 people. It has logistical expertise in the organisation of major internal, public or private events: National Scouts Guides Jamboree from 11 to 14 years old in July 2019 for 20,000 young people, leaders and executives of the movement. It has also hosted events outside the Scout framework: the Commemoration of the Battle of Verdun from 1917 in May 2016, accommodating 4,000 young people and 300 French and German accompanying persons participating in the commemorations.
Jambville, natural centre and close to nature
We wish to reduce the negative environmental impact of the conference in connection with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): the organisation of the event as a scout camp in a natural setting, close to what we achieve during the Jamborees, will allow us to demonstrate the importance that Scouting attaches to the protection of the environment. Our ambitions are:
Targeting 0% of non-recovered waste. Today the centre recycles 100% of food waste for compost and anaerobic digestion.
Having 100% local and seasonal food: today, a vegetable garden on-site and a strict specification with our suppliers meeting the SDGs.
Having a carbon footprint as low as possible thanks to a limitation of local transport, thanks to on-site accommodation in dormitories or camped or within a radius of less than 25 km for hotels (organisation of shuttle buses) and the location of the conference; the organisation of nature activities on site.
Why choose Jambville?
The choice of a Scout base for the conference site is based on the following considerations:

Top-of-the-range hotels within a 30-minute radius by car: no transport service provided, participants should consider renting vehicles (not provided) for the duration of the conference.
